Creating Hope 4 Cambodia

Hoa was the face that inspired Creating Hope 4 Cambodia.

In 2008, Marti Ogren traveled to Cambodia on a Missions trip with Christ Community Church.  There she learned that Hoa was at risk of being sold to a brothel.  She was six years old.  Marti's heart was broken and forever changed.  In 2010 during another visit to Cambodia, she heard over and over again from missionaries that the best thing we could do to help girls to never get into the sex trade in the first place, is to provide scholarships for education.  Girls in Cambodia typically complete fifth grade and then begin working to support their family.  An educated girl increases her earning power outside of a brothel.  And that was the beginning of Creating Hope 4 Cambodia.

We are a ministry called to action to make a difference where we are.
Each Fall we gather together folks who use their talent to create items to sell. We raise money that is then sent to missionaries in Cambodia for student scholarships.  Every penny we collect is sent to Cambodia.  It costs nearly $400 for one girl to attend school for one year.  That includes uniforms, books and tests.  The first year of our fundraiser, we collected enough money to support eight girls for one year.  In 2013 we raised enough to support 20, and it's grown since then!  God is good!

Seek justice.  Love mercy.  Walk humbly.  Micah 6:8
